Black bodies are fetishised not only because of “preference” but because White people know that our existence is profitable. However, our existence is only shown respect when we deliver fruits for their benefit. The significance of our existence does disappear when our livelihoods are at stake.

Society appreciates Black people for their looks but only if our looks have been put under a Eurocentric spotlight, though society often doesn't fight for us when our breaths are taken from us and do they fight for Black people when it matters the most?

Many people are allured and attracted to Black people under the guise of “preference”. I've come across many people who express their liking towards Black people for their physical attributes, often making reference to their sexuality. What's interesting is this allure is on the basis of stereotypes forged by racist systems that have influenced how Black humanity is construed.
